Common questions
My electrics keep tripping. What should I do?
Unplug everything on that circuit and reset the switch. If it stays on, plug things back in one at a time to see which one trips it. If it trips with nothing plugged in, or you can't find the cause, get in touch and I'll find the fault. Don't keep resetting it over and over.
There's a burning smell or sparking. Is that an emergency?
Yes. Turn the power off at the main switch on your fuse box and call me straight away. If there's smoke or fire, get everyone out and call 999.
Can you add an extra socket in my room?
Yes. Adding sockets to an existing circuit is one of my most common jobs, and USB sockets are a handy upgrade at the same time.
Do you do full rewires?
No. I specialise in repairs, fault finding and smaller jobs like sockets, lights and outdoor lighting, so I can usually get to you much sooner.
