Common questions
Wired or wireless CCTV: which is better?
Wired cameras are the most reliable. They record around the clock and never need charging, so they suit businesses and larger homes. Wireless and battery cameras are quicker to fit and great for smaller homes or if you rent. I'll recommend the best option after a quick look at your property.
Can you fit a doorbell or camera I've already bought?
Yes. I fit Ring, Nest, Eufy, Reolink and most other brands, wired or battery, and set up the app on your phone.
Do I need permission to put up CCTV at home?
You don't need planning permission for most home cameras. If a camera records beyond your own property, for example the street or a neighbour's garden, UK data protection rules apply, so I'll angle cameras to cover your property and keep that to a minimum.
Can I watch my cameras on my phone?
Yes. Every system I fit can be viewed live on your phone, and I'll set up alerts so you know when someone's at the door or on the drive.
I rent my home. Can I still have cameras or a smart doorbell?
Usually yes. Battery doorbells and cameras need very little drilling, and some need none at all. It's worth checking with your landlord first.
